Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone!
We’d hazard everyone is still digesting various feasting that happened yesterday and, who are we kidding, today as well. Leftovers are the best.
You know what else is the best? Knowing you helped someone else in need. A huge thanks to our friends at Scandal Co-Active, GdR PR, and Serena Ehrlich at BusinessWire, for helping Radix Collective donate 432 pounds (!!) of food to the Los Angeles Food Bank for Thanksgiving – and to the many others who donated on their own.
The food bank stressed it’s helpful to have meats (turkeys and packaged chicken), dairy, fresh veggies, and baby foods and formulas, as those are typically in short supply. See this article from Orange County on the topic. This happens all over the country, not just Los Angeles – and Christmas, Hanukkah, et al. is right around the corner… sounds like a perfect office or group activity, eh?
If you want to volunteer in a group or individually at the Los Angeles Food Bank, check out their handy website.
And don’t forget about Giving Tuesday this November 29th:
“…#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.”
Giving Tuesday created a directory to help you find organizations, charities, events and more in your own community. It makes it easy to find something in your area.
